Every girl would love to be able to purchase many pairs of new shoes every season until their hearts are content. The reality is, we don’t have unlimited funds and I don’t know about you but I have a scarcity of shoe cabinet space. I had an extremely difficult time picking between those that are nice-to-have and have-to-have for Autumn/Winter. I narrowed my selection down to 5 shoes that are currently on high rotation.
Read on to find out why they are my top picks for Autumn/Winter.
Salvatore Ferragamo Vera pumps / 3.1 Phillip Lim loafers / Rag and Bone Harrow booties / Tony Bianco Lyndley heels / Tony Bianco Leola heels
Salvatore Ferragamo. It’s surprisingly hard to find a pair of patent black shoes that have a comfortable heel height and a chunky heel. My search ended when I found these Salvatore Ferragamo Vera low pumps. I first saw them at David Jones and then saw them on Shopbop which was by the way at least $100-200 less. These are perfect for those who are constantly on their feet or do a lot of walking but at the same time want to look polished. They are extremely comfortable and no need to ‘wear in’. These run true to size (my normal size is 36.5).
3.1 Phillip Lim. I tend to wear dark colours in the colder months. This pair of animal print loafers are a great update for my neutral wardrobe. It is extremely comfortable to wear and another pair that doesn’t need wearing in. They run true to size.
Rag & Bone. I have been eyeing these booties for a while now. I finally gave in and purchased a pair in black leather. Sizing wise, I went up half a size. I’m usually a size 36.5 (AUS 6.5) and I bought these in a 37 and they are a perfect fit. These booties fit very differently to the Newbury. The Harrow booties () is a lot more narrow than the Newbury () which is why I went up half a size to 37.
Tony Bianco. I love heels with ankle straps and monochrome is another love of mine. The combination of the two makes these pair of heels a must have for this season. I love the zip at the back over the buckles that normally come with ankle strap heels.
Tony Bianco. Red is the colour on everyone’s lips this season. It is bold and makes a statement. It also adds colour to my otherwise monochrome wardrobe. I also have my eyes on a pair of red sandals from Nicholas, the most tempting part is they are now on !

between the newbury and the harrow, which do you prefer?
Hi! I love them both! If I had to choose between the two, I prefer Newbury. There are few reasons: 1. They are extremely comfortable. This may be because it is slightly wider at the toe compared to the Harrow. 2. The Newbury has a higher ankle cut so jeans/pants can be tucked into the bootie which is perfect for Winter. 3. Looks great with everything! Pants, skirt, shorts! Whereas I find that Harrow doesn’t match as many things purely because of the cut!
thanks for the reply!!! i’m super tempted to get a pair since rag and bone boots are on sale at ssense.com ! i heard that some of the rag and bone boots are not true to size… what size would you recommend if i’m typically a 6.5/7 in shoes?
I find the Newbury true to size. However, with the Harrow I would recommend half a size up because they narrower at the toe. If you are between size 6.5-7, I would get size 7. Because with boots you might wear thicker socks for winter so it doesn’t matter if it’s a bigger. It’s more of an issue if they are too small! Hope that helps!
Are the red Tony Biancos true to size?
Hi, my normal shoe size is 6.5. Every pair of Tony Bianco’s I own is in size 6.5. This pair of red heels are definitely true to size!
its nice and lovely
