I have been on the search for a versatile pencil skirt that can serve both as a work skirt and also wearable for drinks and dinners on the weekend.
I needed a skirt that could brighten up my otherwise dark toned Melbourne winter wardrobe so I wanted to steer away from black skirts. I have come across many light coloured skirts I love, however the material is too thin to wear in such cold weather. A thicker material is a must for those windy cold days!
The silhouette of the skirt is also very important. For the weekend any silhouette goes! For work, this is often not the case. Some silhouettes are more acceptable than others. A pencil or a-line are great choices for work. The colour and pattern also shouldn’t be too loud for those looking for corporate, professional wear.
Here is how I would style this skirt for work.
Left: 1. Tory Burch Earrings 2. Kate Spade Bracelet 3. Salvatore Ferragamo Wallet 4. Givenchy Bag
Middle: 1. Detroit Shirt 2. Nicholas Skirt
Right: 1. Helmut Lang Blazer 2. Vita Fede Bracelet 3. Tony Bianco Heels
