On 12 April 2015 I said I do to my best friend, my partner in life and my one true love. I have dreamed of this day since I was a little girl. I had to pinch myself that it was really happening. The whole day was a like a modern fairytale come true!
GETTING READY
The morning started at 9am with in-room breakfast at The Blackman hotel. One by one my bridesmaids and family started to arrive. The room was buzzing with excitement. First makeup, then hair and finally the surreal moment of putting on my custom made wedding dress. I was lucky to have the Mario from Croce & Colosimo come and dress me for the big day!
Meanwhile, across town Jon and the boys were starting the celebrations early, popping open a bottle of champagne!
THE FIRST LOOK
This was one of the most special moments of the day, one that I will always treasure and remember. Traditionally the first look happens when the bride makes her big entrance at the wedding ceremony. We made a decision to do the first look before the ceremony given the little time we had in between our ceremony and reception to take photos. Despite this, we still wanted to have that special first look moment. These three frames captured that moment perfectly!
PRE-WEDDING CEREMONY
We chose two locations to shoot our wedding photos at. The first was at the steps of The Grand Hotel. It was the perfect location to capture my long train. The second was at St Vincent Gardens in South Melbourne. We had amazing lighting at the garden and captured some magical moments.
WEDDING CEREMONY
Our wedding ceremony was held at Carousel, located right on the Albert Park lake with a spectacular view of the city. The wedding ceremony was something that I thought a lot about and what it would be like and how I would feel. It was hard to believe at that moment it was to become a reality. I was so happy to have my dad by my side to walk me down the aisle. I didn’t realise how nervous I was until the moment of the double door entrance and all of our guests’ attention was focused on me. Luckily I made it up the aisle without tripping. Jon had the most ridiculous smile on his face waiting for me at the end.
WEDDING RECEPTION
It was time to let our hair down and enjoy this day we planned for a year and a half! We wanted to take it all in and savour every moment!
